Construction & Working: It is a small credit card size computer, which uses a basic rule of AP to maintain safe following distance between cars in traffic.

Application in different domain of life: It is used in cars for proper defensive driving, and to contact police and hospital in case of an accident.

Advantages: It can reduce the number of accidents and save many lives, and can also save our precious time by helping in reducing traffic.

Nowadays you all know that there are so many road accidents in India. Road accidents are one of the 12 most common causes of deaths in India, India has 1% of the world’s vehicles but accounts for 6% of the world’s road traffic accidents, according to data from a 2018 World Health Organization. The most common reasons for these accidents are over speeding and distracted driving. To avoid these accidents nowadays automobile companies are adding  ADAS features in the cars. ACC(Adaptive cruise control) & CAS(collision avoidance system) are 2 of the most useful ADAS features. The Adaptive cruise control system is a cruise control advance driver assistance system for road vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Collision avoidance system is also a motorcar safety system that adjusts the vehicle's speed to prevent a collision.

Our project , named Safe following distance maintainer is also a small computer designed for cars and have features such as ACC & CAS. And works on a basic rule of arithmetic progression .

As you all know A.P. is a series of numbers that decrease or increase by the same amount each time , which means the difference of two consecutive numbers is same throughout the A.P., This is the same rule which we have used in our device to maintain the SAFE FOLLOWING DISTANCE or 2 seconds rule  between two cars. To avoid accidents.

It is useful for defensive and safe driving; it will help to avoid road accidents. It is a small computer fixed inside a car. If we attach our device in every car, all the computers in the radius of 50 m will get connected to each other, they will send signals two each other to maintain a safe following distance.  The safe following distance between the first two cars will be maintained by each and every car in that lane. If a car isn’t maintaining the distance or is not following the instructions of our device, the driver will get a warning and if he do not listen to our warning also then  the device inside the car will directly communicate to police station and the driver will be fined.

This device is useful in many ways first of all it will avoid road accidents ,  and if unfortunately any accidents occur it will contact to police and hospital which will be helpful for the injured person.
